2012 Season...Excellent all around shortstop who had a breakout season in his first full year with the Tommies emerging as one of the finest defensive middle infielders in the country. Follows in a long line of great UST middle infielders hailing from St. Paul’s Cretin Derham-Hall joining Buzz Hannahan ('98), Jake Mauer ('01), Mike Kimlinger ('06), Mark Boland ('08), and Louie Salmen ('09) to all wear the Tommie uniform. Named to MIAC All-Defensive Team after a superb campaign in which he posted a .956 fielding percentage in 228 chances with 64 putouts and only ten errors helping lead the best defense in the nation. Was named UST's starting shortstop in early February and never looked back. Was the only player on the team to play every inning and start all 51 of St. Thomas games in 2012 becoming the first player since fellow Cretin Derham-Hall alum Matt McQuillan ('11) to start 51+ games in a season. Broke the UST record for assists in a single season with an incredible 154 which ranked amongst the national leaders. Finished junior season with .290 average with 45 hits, three doubles, 14 rbi's, 48 total bases, 26 runs scored, went 6-for-8 in stolen base attempts and posted .345 on-base percentage. Made collegiate debut against St. Scholastica on Opening Day (2/27/12) picking up his first career hit and rbi in the contest. Established a career high with eight infield assists against UW-Lacrosse (3/5/12) at the Metrodome. Had first career multi-hit performance against RPI University (3/17/12) in Winter Haven, Florida going 3-for-4 with two rbi's. Broke out in postseason play collecting eight hits during the MIAC Tournament and Midwestern Regional including a 3-for-5 performance with two rbi's against St. Marys (5/12/12) at Veterans Field in Minnetonka. In the NCAA College World Series posted 2-for-3 performance with a walk and a run scored in the biggest game of the season against the Marietta Pioneers (5/27/12) in Appleton, Wisconsin. Finished hitting .277 in the World Series with two multi-hit games and committed just one error in 32 defensive chances with 17 assists.
High School...2009 Cretin Derham-Hall High School Graduate. Letter Twice in Football for the Raiders, Named All State, All Area and All-Conference Selection as a senior (2009). Lettered Twice in Baseball, All-Conference Selection as a senior (2009).
