Rylee Bartz scores lone goal for the Tommies in loss to Bulldogs on Friday evening

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. – The St. Thomas Women's Hockey team hosted the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs for a WCHA match up.

After scoring three goals in the second period, the Bulldogs topped the Tommies 4-1 at Saint Thomas Ice Arena on Friday evening.

RECAP
Minnesota Duluth opened scoring in game one of the weekend. At the 16:54 mark of the period, the Bulldogs found the back of the net for the first time, sending Duluth into the first intermission with a 1-0 lead over the Tommies.

Duluth scored three goals in the middle frame to extend its lead over St. Thomas and take the 4-1 advantage going into the final period of play.

The Tommies' lone goal came just a minute after the Bulldogs scored their third goal of the game. Rylee Bartz cut Duluth's lead to 3-1, scoring off a rebound from Ella Boerger. Bartz's eighth of the season came at the 16:53 mark of the second period.

The Tommies went on the power play three time during the third period. With six minutes on the player advantage, St. Thomas added six shots on goal, but could not put another one past Duluth's Hailey MacLeod.

Olivia King recorded 10 saves in the third period and finished the game with 23 through sixty minutes.

QUOTABLE
"I really thought we played well," Head Coach Joel Johnson said. "I told our team I'm not going to apologize for being a broken record and saying that I think we are doing the things we want, and not getting the results maybe we deserve. It doesn't change my belief in how we are playing."
