The Tommies fall to Summit League Leader, Denver
DENVER – The St. Thomas Men's Soccer team fell 5-0 on the road to Summit League Leader, Denver on Saturday evening.
The Pioneers found four first half goals, with three scored in the first 12 minutes. Tommie goalkeeper, Moritz Krenc recorded six saves in the match.
RECAP
The Pioneers scored early and often in the first half of play. Denver found the back of the net three times within the first 12 minutes of play. Denver found their first shot on goal less than a minute into play, with Moritz Krenc making his first save of the game. The Pioneers launched nine shots, putting six on goal during the first 45 minutes.
The Pioneers scored their fourth goal in the final minute of the first half. Denver totaled seven shots on goal in the first half, with Krenc stopping three shots.
Offense started in the second half with a shot by the Tommies, however it was blocked by the Pioneers. Denver scored their fifth goal of the night in the 62nd minute of play. After the Pioneer goal, the Purple tallied two more shots towards the goal, but both were blocked. Krenc recorded three more saves, finishing the game with a total of six saves.
The Pioneers ultimately defeated the Tommies by a score of 5-0.
