Bulldogs get out to fast start, don't look back

Duluth, Minn. -- Tommies Women's Hockey gave up three goals in the opening period and could not hold down the Bulldogs of Minnesota Duluth in the opening game of the weekend series at Amsoil Arena. The host Bulldogs took a 8-1 victory.

St. Thomas (3-14 overall, 0-13 WCHA) received 36 saves from Alexa Dobchuk in two periods and 12 from Maggie Malecha in one.

Brieja Parent scored her first goal of the season 4:50 to play in the final frame, Emma Larson provided the assist. 

UMD (13-6, 7-6) never trailed. The host team outshot the Toms 56-14.
