Baseball bats lively in Monday sweep of Maroons

Tommie baseball continued its offensive surge in Monday's 14-6, 14-7 sweep of the University of Chicago in Winter Haven, Fla. UST slapped 31 hits and had no errors on the day.
J.D. Dorgan went 5-for-7 wih six runs; Tyler Peterson went 5-for-7 with eight RBI; Jack Hogan went 4-for-6; Ben Podobinski went 4-for-10.
Starters Colin Wendinger and Joey Toedt each threw five innings to get the pitching victories.
The No. 7-ranked Tommies (11-4) have won six of their last seven games. They play one game on Tuesday against 5-4 DePauw, which swept St. Olaf on Monday.
UST closes the trip with an exhibition game on Wednesday against the Minnesota Twins Rookies.
In their 4-1 start in Florida, Coach Chris Olean's team has collected 48 runs.
