Family: Daughter of Mark and Amy Schwanz. Both went to Gustavus Adolphus College, where her dad played football and basketball and her mom was an athletic trainer (how they met!). Her dad is a Land Surveyor with an engineering firm in the Twin Cities. Her mom is a Regulatory Affairs Manager with a medical device company in Minnesota. Brynn has one younger sister, Kyra, who is a junior at Eastview High School. She is involved with basketball, National Honors Society, and their local church.
What is your favorite sports memory? Brynn’s favorite sports memory is her junior year, beating Rosemount in the section final game to go to state. It was a tough game, and even harder because she was recovering from strep throat. They won 41-40 and it was awesome having all of the fans storm the court in their own gym once the game was over.
Why did you choose St. Thomas? Brynn says she chose St. Thomas because the university allows her to have a great balance of academics and athletics, both of which are very important to her. I love the size of campus and location, along with the culture in the basketball program. She has gone to Tommie Pride Camps since elementary school, so she knew beforehand what the program and team is all about.
What is your career aspiration or Dream Job? Brynn’s major is currently Accounting, but that is subject to change! She is very interested in finding a job that combines mathematics and business, so she is looking into other options for majors as well.
What is your favorite late night snack? Her favorite late night snack is ice cream, especially strawberry or cookie dough.
Who inspires you or is a role model? Brynn says her younger sister is a huge inspiration to her. She has overcome so much in her life and does everything with lots of hard work, determination, and with a very positive attitude!
What is your craziest ambition or on your bucket list to do? A place the bucket list that Brynn would love to travel to is Greece!
