2015-2016: Gabby was off to a terrific season before being sidelined with a knee injury. Gabby started the first 10 games averaging 13.6 points per game, gathering 3.1 rebounds per game and dishing out 2.5 assists per game. She scored in double digits in 7 of those ten games 24 being her high vs Pacific Lutheran. Her ability to get the rim and shoot from the outside make her a difficult match-up for opposing teams. Gabby shot 56.3% from the field (31-71), 40% from 3 point land (10-25), and got 38 free throws making 84.% of them.
2014-2015: Appeared in 9 games after transferring to UST mid-season… Averaged 0.6 points per game and 0.2 rebounds per game… Scored 3 points against Hamline (2/21).
Prior to St. Thomas:
2013 -2014: Missed season with a knee injury.
2012-2013: Attended NCAA Division II - Colorado Christian
High School: All-Conference her sophomore through senior year. She was All-state both junior and senior seasons. A 1,000 point scorer and record holder in scoring and assists at Totino Grace High School.
Personal: Parents are Darrell and Amy Zehrer, and sister is Ally Zehrer. Intended major is Business Marketing. Hometown is Rogers, Minn.
My Dream Job would be: Marketer for an NBA team
I chose UST because: I wanted to be a part of a prestigious academic and basketball program.
My Favorite Meal is:... Breakfast all day!
What did you do this summer?... The past summer I worked two paid internships, One of my internships was through Ultimate Hoops and Lifetime Fitness as a content contributor and journalist, which I am still involved in and love it. My other internship was through a marketing research company called Information Specialist Group.
What do you enjoy most about your teammates or the basketball program?...I love that we can have fun together while we work hard to pursue the same goal. The relationships don't only exist on the basketball court, which makes this team special.
What makes St. Thomas Special?...The solidarity, community, and standards make St. Thomas a great place to be successful in your field of study and in your sport. There are many schools that are prestigious in either one or the other, but not both. St. Thomas breaks the mold by being successful in both academics and athletics.
What is your favorite dessert?... Cinnamon rolls
Do you have any notable or unique talents or hobbies?...I'm a noob skateboarder, I love drawing and writing, and I also enjoy writing music and singing.
Who is your favorite athlete?...Steve Nash
Who inspires you or who is your role model? Why?... Ronda Rousey inspires me because of her story and how she encourages women to be physically strong and head strong.
What is on the top of your bucket list?... Travel to all seven continent
