Guffroy leads men’s soccer to home victory

Mathis Guffroy and Chance Therrien each scored in the Toms’ first home win
ST. PAUL, Minn. – St. Thomas Men's Soccer (2-0-1) continued its hot start to 2025 with a 2-1 victory over the Utah Tech Trailblazers (0-1-2) on Thursday afternoon at South Field. Chance Therrien scored his first career goal and Mathis Guffroy sliced the game winner in with under 10 minutes to play.
Scoring Summary
First Half
-Chance Therrien scored his first career goal in his 14th game in the 36th minute to break the Tommies' home scoreless streak of 515 minutes dating back to October 9 of last season.
Second Half
-Utah Tech struck for their lone goal in the 77th minute to knot the game up at one goal apiece.
-Mathis Guffroy scored his second goal of the season (and team-leading 5th and 6th points) from Tommy Kniser in the 84th minute on a top-shelf beauty to the lefthand corner to put the Tommies out in front.
