Tommie Men’s Golf to compete at GCU invitational

Tommies travel to Phoenix, Ariz. to compete with 17 other programs
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Tommies are back in action for the first time in 153 days as they travel to Phoenix, Arizona for the Grand Canyon University Invitational hosted by the Coyotes on their university golf course. This is the second time the Tommies will have competed at the GCU Invite.
The tournament begins on Tuesday, March 11th and concludes on Wednesday the 12th. Two rounds are scheduled for day one with the third round scheduled for day two. Both days will begin with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. MST (10:00 a.m. CST).

Last Time Out
The Tommies placed fourth out of 12 teams at the Throw Down Up Top at Landmand on October 8th and 9th. They finished the first two rounds in second place but struggled on the second day and dropped two spots on the team leaderboard.
St. Thomas finished one stroke out of the top three and two strokes from second place. The field was dominated by Loyola Chicago's -16 as a team.
Zach Rouleau was the Toms' highest finisher. He shot +2 and took 15th place with a -1, -1 and +4. Fellow sophomore, Gavin Newkirk placed 18th with a +3 after shooting, -2, +3, +2 he tied with freshman Tyler McNeive who scored -2, +7, -2. Owen Rexing and Matt Armstrong rounded out the scoring golfers for the Purple in 25th place at +5. Rexing went +4, +4, -3 and climbed 14 spots on the final day while Armstrong went +5, -2, +2.
