Men’s Golf Finishes Fourth at Robert Kepler Invitational

Tommies post three rounds under par; Rexing leads with top-10 finish
COLUMBUS, Ohio – St. Thomas men's golf turned in one of its strongest performances of the season, finishing fourth in a competitive 16-team field at the Robert Kepler Invitational, hosted at Columbus Country Club. The Tommies posted three team rounds under par, finishing at 11-under overall.
Owen Rexing led the way with a ninth-place finish, carding three rounds under par to pace the Purple. The senior opened with a 69 (-3) before adding consecutive rounds of 71 (-1), finishing at 5-under for the tournament. He was also the top finisher among Summit League competitors.
St. Thomas finished just three strokes behind third-place Miami (OH), while Minnesota claimed the team title, followed by Ohio State. Summit League foes South Dakota State and Kansas City each tied for 11th place at 4-over par.
Round One
The Tommies opened strong with three golfers finishing under par, led by Rexing's 69 (-3). After sitting at 3-over through nine holes, he surged on the back nine with four birdies and an eagle to close his round. Jesse Hand followed a similar pattern, finishing at 70 (-2) after a 4-under back nine. Tyler McNeive added a 71 (-1), while Gavin Newkirk and Mason Roloff each carded 76s (+4).
Round Two
Newkirk paced the Tommies in round two with a bogey-free 68 (-4), highlighted by four birdies. Roloff bounced back with a 70 (-2), while Rexing posted a 71 (-1) despite an early double bogey. McNeive shot 73 (+1), and Hand finished at 75 (+3).
Round Three
McNeive closed strong with a 68 (-4), recording a bogey-free round with two birdies and an eagle. Rexing added a 71 (-1), while Newkirk finished even at 72. Roloff shot 74 (+2), and Hand carded a 75 (+3).

The Tommies return to action next weekend at the Rutherford Intercollegiate, hosted by Penn State at its University Golf Course.
