Baseball falls to New Mexico State in season opener

Recchio tallies three hits, two RBI in 7-2 loss
LAS CRUCES, NM. – St. Thomas baseball opened the 2025 season at New Mexico State on Friday evening. Three runs in the bottom of the second inning lifted New Mexico State over the Tommies in game one of the four game series.
Tanner Recchio tallied three hits and two RBI for St. Thomas, with runs scoring in the top of the second and the fourth innings for the Purple. Joe Vos and Matthew Maulik also posted multi-hit games in the first contest of the season.
Evan Esch (0-1), Zak Endres and Evan Jackson combined for four scoreless innings, as Endres totaled six strikeouts in 3.1 innings of work.
