Tommies fall in series finale

Roder leads offense with 3 hits
ST. PAUL, MINN.- The St. Thomas Tommie dropped the series finale 11-7 to the Omaha Mavericks. Joe Roder led the way going three for four with three RBIs and a homerun.
Scoring Summary:
The Mavericks started the scoring by plating two runs in the top of the first, taking a 2-0 lead.
The Tommie then cut the deficit in half when Chris Knowles's double scored Owen Bond.
Omaha then plated three more in the fourth to take a 5-1 lead. The Mavericks then tallied four more in the sixth, two of which came via a two-run homerun.
Joe Roder added a Tommie run in the sixth with his solo home run to left field to make it 9-2.
The Mavericks add one in both the seventh and eighth before the Tommies responded in the bottom of the eight plating two of their own. Owen Bond and Chris Knowles picked up the RBIs.
The Tommies comeback effort in the ninth but came up short. The Purple plated three runs in the inning that all involved Joe Roder. He had a two RBI single and then scored himself on a pass ball.

The Tommies will travel to NDSU for the three-game series against the Bison, April 2-4.e
