Tommies combine for 11 wins Wednesday at Sweeney Invitational

Women set 12 program top-10 marks, men set five in final meet before Summit League Championships
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- St. Thomas track & field welcomed in 17 teams to the Joe Sweeney Invitational Wednesday as the Tommies came away with a combined 11 event wins and 17 top-10 marks between the men's and women's programs.
The women totaled 12 top-10 marks with eight event wins, 43 top-10 finishes and 42 personal records. The men finished with five top-10 marks, three event wins, 38 top-10 finishes and 21 personal records.
Top Performances
· Three of the men's five top-10 marks set came in the 5000-meter run, which was led by the win from freshman Adam Lueth in 14:17.52. His time ranks third in program history while Sean McNiesh took third in 14:21.45, ranking fourth all-time, and Charles Caven took sixth in 14:28.90, which ranks eighth.
· Isaiah Hopf took second in the 200m dash with a time of 21.47, moving up to a tie for third on the all-time list.
· The 4x400m relay of Nate Carlin, Hopf, Mitchell Piehl and Grayson Spronk won the event in 40.94, which ranks sixth in program history.
· Freshman Will DiSessa took the title in the triple jump with a leap of 13.83m (45-feet-4.50-inches).
· Hailey Shimon began the day with a win for the Tommies in the hammer throw behind a mark of 49.39m (162-0), which ranks fifth all-time for the program. She also set a personal record and finished second in the discus with a throw of 45.23m (148-4), which ranks third all-time.
· Freshman Lauren Rott totaled two top three finishes, taking second in the shot put with a throw of 13.59m (44-7) and third in the discus with a mark of 42.74m (140-2). Her shot put ranks third all-time for St. Thomas while her discus ranks seventh.
· Audrey Hatfield and Emma Potratz also set top 10 marks in the shot put, Hatfield landing fourth and Potratz eighth. Hatfield finished third in the event with a mark of 13.50m (44-3.5) while Potratz took fourth with a throw of 12.62m (41-5).
· Chloe Staub improved her personal record in the javelin for the fifth straight meet, winning the event with a toss of 40.10m (131-7). The mark improves her No. 7 placement on the program's all-time list.
· Hailey Hindt won the 400m hurdles in a personal best 1:01.66, improving her fourth-rank time in program history.
· Freshman Rebecca Randleman won the 400m dash in 57.36 to place herself fifth all-time at St. Thomas
· Mariana Lehrer led the women's triple jump squad that finished 1-2-3 overall as she jumped a personal record 11.43m (37-6). Cassia Cady took second at 11.37m (37-3.75) and Elise Biorn finished third at 10.96m (35-11.5).
· Cady won the 200m dash in 25.45 while Olivia Keller won the 100m hurdles in 14.62.
· Katie Nollette won the pole vault in a jump-off as she neared the program record. She ended the night at a height of 3.71m (12-2) while Olivia Passeri took third with a personal record of 3.61m (11-10), which ranks fourth in program history.
· Molly Desotell ran the program's fifth fastest 1500m at 4:32.85, finishing fifth in the event, while Brianna Fleek entered the program's top 10 list in the long jump with a mark of 5.49m (18-0.25), to rank 10th.
