ST. PAUL, Minn. -- As the 2023-24 indoor season begins to wind down, the St. Thomas men's and women's track & field programs prepare for the SDSU Indoor Classic Feb. 9-10 in Brookings, S.D.
The Tommies begin the meet with field and running events at 4 p.m. Friday from the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex before an 11 a.m. start time to close the meet on Saturday.

Two St. Thomas men's and women's program records were broken during the last time out as they completed a successful Ted Nelson Classic Saturday, Feb. 10 in Mankato, Minn. The Tommie women won the team scoring while the men finished second of 10 teams.
Sophomore Alexis Pratt broke a 15-year-old record in the 200m dash by 0.01, previously set by Nikki Arola in 2009, with a first-place time of 25.02. Pratt was one of three event winners and 13 top-three finishers for the Tommies, who saw 18 personal records fall. St. Thomas finished first of nine teams with a score of 166.5, followed by Minnesota State with 150.5.
Junior Sam Duffing won the 60m hurdles with a program record time of 8.13, topping the previous mark of 8.17 set by Erik Anderson in 2022. Duffing improved on his prelim time by nearly 0.20 seconds as he was just one of six event winners for the men, which was part of nine top-three finishers. A group of 13 personal records were broken to help St. Thomas to a second-place finish as a team, scoring 124 points behind Minnesota State's 179.
