ST. PAUL, Minn. -- St. Thomas outdoor track & field rewrote the program record book and collected event wins across five meets from Minnesota to California over a five-day stretch. The Tommies produced school records in the sprints, relays, jumps and vault while adding numerous NCAA Midwest regional marks against elite competition at the Bryan Clay Invitational, Beach Invitational and Pacific Coast Invitational.

The men and women made history in the mixed relay, as the 4x400m team of Mitchell Warmington, Jack Fischer, Ella Olson and Brooke Hohenecker won the first mixed 4x400 relay contested in program history at the Gustie Twilight.

WOMEN
The women delivered a record-setting weekend from start to finish, beginning with Alexis Pratt, who broke the school record in the 200m dash at the Pacific Coast Invitational in 23.87. Pratt also ran 11.73 in the 100m, the second-fastest mark in program history and 20th in the NCAA Midwest Region. She later added a wind-aided 23.53 in the 200m at the Beach Invitational, a mark that ranks fourth in the region.

The Tommie sprint group added more history as Danika Apple ran 24.05 in the 200m for the second-fastest mark in school history, while Cassia Cady clocked 11.96 in the 100m to rank fifth all-time. St. Thomas then set another program record in the 4x100m relay, as Jayi Wilson, Pratt, Apple and Cady finished third at the Beach Invitational in 44.98, the fourth-fastest mark in the NCAA Midwest Region. The 4x400m relay of Tessa Campbell, Pratt, Rebecca Randleman and Olivia Keller also moved to second in program history with a 3:43.11 that ranks 10th in the region.

In the hurdles, Olivia Keller ran 14.07 in the 100m hurdles, third in program history, before posting 59.31 in the 400m hurdles to place fourth at the Beach Invitational and move to second all-time while ranking 12th in the NCAA Midwest Region.

The vault and jumps groups also made major statements. Brooke Wisdom and Morgan Koppelman each cleared 4.07 meters in the pole vault at the Beach Invitational, tying for a new program record and ranking 11th in the Midwest Region. Cassia Cady added another school record in the triple jump at 11.99 meters, while Jacquelyn Cole jumped 5.87 meters in the long jump to rank fourth in program history.

The distance squad produced more elite marks at Bryan Clay. Olivia Pauly ran 34:52.08 in the 10,000m for second in program history and 20th in the Midwest Region. Layla Vennink clocked 4:29.10 in the 1500m to move to fourth all-time, while Sophie Yetter added top-10 program marks in both the 1500m and 3000m steeplechase.

Back in Minnesota, the women added more wins at the Carleton Relays as Alaina French captured the shot put with a mark of 12.71 meters, ranking eighth in program history, while Lauren Rott won both the discus and hammer throw.

Overall, the women totaled 14 top-three finishes and five wins at Gustie Twilight, four top-10 finishes at Pacific Coast, one top-10 finish at Bryan Clay, 10 top-10 finishes with four top-five finishes at Beach Invitational, and six top-three finishes with three wins at Carleton Relays.

MEN
The Tommie men were highlighted by another strong hurdle performance from Barak Barner, who won the 110m hurdles at the Gustie Twilight in 14.51. That mark improved Barner to fourth in program history and ranks 30th in the NCAA Midwest Region this season.

On the national stage, St. Thomas added major distance marks at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Max Westerlund ran 14:17.21 in the 5000m to move to third in program history while ranking 32nd in the Midwest Region. Blake Burnstad added a top program performance in the 800m, finishing among a deep field and moving to seventh in school history.

Sam Hebert clocked 47.27 in the 400m dash at the Beach Invitational to place sixth and remain second in program history. Hebert also recorded one of the team's top finishes at the Pacific Coast Invitational. Jack Weigel added an event title in the 100m open at the Beach Invitational.

Across the week, the men totaled 16 top-three finishes and five wins at Gustie Twilight, four top-10 finishes at Pacific Coast, and three top-10 finishes with a win at Beach Invitational.

QUOTABLES
Women's Head Coach Ashley Lucas:
"It was a week full of great performances from our team. From competing at Gustavus, to multiple meets in California, to finishing at Carleton, our group really took advantage of every opportunity to compete. We came away with four school records and multiple new additions to the top-10 list, and I'm incredibly proud of what the team accomplished.

"What stands out most, though, is the way our student-athletes responded throughout the week. If someone had an off performance in one event, they did not let it carry over to the next. They stayed competitive, stayed focused and got right back to work.

"Now we turn our attention to another big week of competition ahead."

UP NEXT
St. Thomas remains in the Twin Cities Wednesday, April 22 at the Gary Wilson Invitational and will send student-athletes to the Drake Relays April 23-25 in Des Moines, Iowa.
