Sophomore Mitchell Piehl won the 300m dash in 34.96, breaking the men's program record set by Rich Harkwell at the 1987 MIAC Indoor Conference Championships. Prior to Saturday, the Tommies had just one 300m dash participant since the 1996 indoor season.
Including Piehl's record-breaking race, the men totaled eight top three finishes. The team also saw student-athletes set 10 personal records and 11 top 10 marks in the Summit League. Sophomore Caden Nordberg paced the top seven finishers in the 3000m run, all Tommies, with a personal record of 8:22.09, which ranks third in program history and in the Summit League this year.
The women finished with wins in the 4x400m relay, 300m dash, mile, 3000m run, and the triple jump. Freshman Rebecca Randleman won the 300m dash in 41.03 as the Tommies' top four finishers in the event all set the fastest times for the program since at least 2011. Junior Molly Desotell earned two event wins in the mile and the 3000m run. Her mile time of 5:01.21 ranks 10th in the Summit League this season while the team swept the top five finishes in the 3000m run.
The 4x400m relay win, run by Randleman, junior Hailey Hindt, junior Alicia Belany and sophomore Alexis Pratt, in 4:02.00 ranks fourth in the Summit League this season. Freshman Elise Biorn won the triple jump with a mark of 11.08m (36-feet-4.25-inches), setting one of the team's 12 personal records on the day while it was also the sixth best mark for the program since 2011.
