Record-breaking day for Women's Golf propels them to fourth place finish

Tommies break DI program record for lowest single round team score and Isabelle Lynch breaks single round individual score record.

NORMAL, Ill. – University of St. Thomas Women's Golf concluded the final round of the Redbird Invitational with a spectacular showing, leapfrogging one place to finish fourth out of 16 teams.

The Tommies shot a collective 287 (-1) on Monday, the best overall team performance in a single round in the Division I era for coach Katie Hanneman's squad. They were one of just three teams to finish under par during the final round of competition. 
 
St. Thomas was led by junior Isabelle Lynch who finished the final 18 holes with a 69 (-3), the new single-round program-record low. She finished the 93-player tournament tied for third place with a collective three-round score of 215 (-1). Lynch recovered after shooting a 76 (+4) during the opening round with consecutive rounds below par (70 -2 | 69 -3). 
 
The Tommies finished the two-day tournament in fourth place with a three-round score of 877 (+13). They finished just three strokes out of third place and 12 strokes behind the first-place finisher Bradley.  
 
Kathryn VanArragon and Courtney Wedin each finished the day with a 72 (E), and finished the invitational with a 220 (+4), tied for 11th place. Emma Davies (74 +2 | 74 +2 | 75 +3 | 223 +7), Nicole Reineke (77 +5 | 75 +3 | 74 +2 | 226 +10) and Caroline Monty (80 +8 | 74 +2 | 81 +9 | 235 +19) rounded out the Tommies' lineup.
