The second period remained scoreless for both teams, until the Buckeye's earned a last-second goal and went into the second intermission with a 5-1 lead.

QUOTABLES
Coach Johnson on Friday's conference matchup:
"During the second intermission I challenged our team - I said I want to get better today. Not even to set a tone for tomorrow's game. I want to get better, so that we're better in November, and then in January and February. I thought that second and third period were hopefully things we could look at and say that's part of the process of building a team and learning how to play."
