Minneapolis, Minn. - St. Thomas women's hockey (5-25-1, 3-23-1 WCHA) lost 7-1 at No. 1 Minnesota (26-7-1, 21-6-1 WCHA) in the team's final regular season game.

After finding themselves trailing, 1-0, the Tommies responded with a breakaway Luci Bianchi goal (her team-high tying sixth goal this season), on assists from junior forward Allie Monrean and Senior defender Megan Cornell to even up the score. Monrean and Cornell each earned their sixth assist on the score. The Tommies were outshot, 24-5, over the initial 20 minutes and finished with nine faceoff wins in the first period.

The second period was relatively quiet with the Gophers adding one goal to their score. After 40 minutes of play, the Tommies trailed the top-ranked Golden Gophers 4-1. The opposing team's shots on goal total fell to 17 after amassing 24 in the first period. Each team had one power-play attempt in the second period, neither of which ended in a score.

St. Thomas was outscored, 3-0, in the final period of the game. The Tommies amassed six shots on goal in the final 20 minutes, matching the first two periods combined. Monrean and freshman Lauren Stenslie finished with two third period shots, each.

Alexa Dobchuk, a senior goaltender from Eden Pairie, Minn., played all 60 minutes and made 59 saves for the Tommies. Dobchuk's 59 saves set a new career-high for the senior, and she made 21 or more saves in two of the three periods in the contest. She stopped the first power-play situation that she faced.
