Kierstin Anderson-Glass worked six innings to lead a three-hit shutout as No. 12-ranked St. Thomas Softball closed out a 2-0 win over Lake Forest (Ill.) in Sunday's championship game on the Foresters' field.

The Tommies (41-6) have won 14 of their last 15 games and advance to the Super Regional round next Friday and Saturday. UST will travel to Angola, Ind., and face Trine (Ind.) (33-12) in a best-of-three series.

This is the second time in the three-year history of the Super Regional format that UST has qualfied -- it won at North Central (Ill.) in 2014 to reach the eight-team national tournament en route to a third-place NCAA finish.

UST's offense made the most of four hits and one walk. Anderson-Glass and Micaela Trainor each had two-out, RBI doubles, in the first and sixth innings, to provide the St. Thomas offense. Melissa Barry walked and scored in the first, and Megan DuPuis doubled and scored in the sixth.

Katie Jo Delisle came on to pitch the fifth inning and allowed a walk and retired the other three runners she faced. Anderson-Glass, who struck out 10 and walked one, re-entered to start the sixth and got the final six outs. She allowed two singles to start the seventh inning. After Lake Forest bunted the runners into scoring position, the Tommie freshman got a called third strike and a swinging strikeout to end the game.

Anderson-Glass (29-4) was named tourney Most Outstanding Player as she struck out 25, walked only and allowed just two runs in 20 innings. DuPuis, Barry and Dana Connelly also made the all-tournament team. Barry went 2-for-7 with a walk and scored four runs in the three games, while Connelly was 2-for-7 with four RBI. Anderson-Glass was 4-for-8 with a walk, a run and an RBI. DuPuis went 3-for-9 with two runs scored.
