Kierstin does it again, Softball to Sunday finals

Freshman hurler Kierstin Anderson-Glass set down the first 15 batters and finished with a one-hit shutout Saturday as No. 12-ranked Tommie Softball moved to Sunday's championship game with a 3-0 victory over Lake Forest in the NCAA regional in Lake Forest, Ill.
UST plays Sunday against the surviving team from the losers' bracket among UW-Whitewater, Aurora and Lake Forest. UST needs one win in either one or potentially a second game on Sunday to advance to next weekend's super regionals.
St. Thomas (40-6) improved to 5-1 this postseason, including a 5-0 record for Anderson-Glass (28-4 overall). She struck out eight and didn't walk a batter. The lone Forester baseruner came on a leadoff single in the sixth inning, but the UST pitcher retired 21 of 22 on the game. That comes after Friday's effort when she set down the last 10 Whitewater batters to close out a 3-2 win.
It was the third time this season Anderson-Glass took a no-hitter into the sixth or seventh ining but settled for a one-hit shutout. In 14 innings at the regional she has 15 Ks and no walks.
Freshman Dana Connelly's two-run single in the first inning gave the Toms all the runs they needed. Two-out singles by Micaela Trainor and Anderson-Glass plus a passed ball put runners in scoring position, and for the second day in a row Connelly had a two-RBI hit in a close victory.
Freshman Melissa Barry scored the final run in the third with a two-out single, a wild pitch, a steal and a throwing error.
St. Thomas avenged a 3-1 loss to Lake Forest back in early March in their second game of the season. UST has won 38 of its last 41 games, with all three defeats by one run.
