No. 22-ranked Tommie Football set a modern school record for points with Saturday's 83-7 road victory over Carleton in Northfield.
Ten different Toms scored touchdowns and UST didn't punt all day. St. Thomas recovered four fumbles, blocked a punt, and limited the Knights to 157 total yards, including just 49 rushing yards on 32 carries.
St. Thomas (7-2 overall, 5-2 MIAC) can share third place in the conference with a win next Saturday at home against Gustavus. The Tommies have won seven or more games each of the seven seasons under Coach Glenn Caruso.
UST scored on its first seven possessions for a 49-0 second-quarter lead. On the day, the Toms rolled up 621 yards of offense and had only one turnover.
John Gould threw three TD passes in the game's first 12:02. Gould finished 12-of-14 passing for 175 yards in two quarters.
