St. Thomas to compete at Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational & Multi and Gopher Classic
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- St. Thomas track & field readies for a multi-meet weekend Feb. 6-7 as it will compete at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational & Multi in Lincoln, Neb., hosted by Nebraska, and the Gopher Classic in Minneapolis, hosted by Minnesota. The Husker Invitational begins at 11:30 a.m. Friday and runs through Saturday while the Gopher Classic starts at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

St. Thomas Indoor Track & Field produced a record-setting performance at the Mark Schuck Open and Multi on Jan. 30–31 in Mankato, Minn., posting four program records, five event wins and a deep collection of top-10 marks across both squads. The Tommies delivered balanced success on the track and in the field, continuing to stack Summit League-caliber performances midway through the indoor season.
The Tommie women accounted for two program records and three event wins, led by a historic pole vault showing from Brooke Wisdom and Morgan Koppelman, who tied the school record at 3.91 meters while finishing first and second. Cassia Cady added a program record in the triple jump with a 12.06-meter mark, while Alexis Pratt captured the 300-meter title and climbed to second in program history. Strong multis performances from Ella Olson and Brianna Fleek and multiple additional top-10 program marks capped a standout weekend for the women.
On the men's side, St. Thomas also set two program records and claimed two event victories, highlighted by Blake Burnstad's win in the 1000 meters in a record-setting 2:26.92. Johnny Bezdicek added a program record in the 300 meters, while Sam Hebert captured the 600-meter title. The Tommies piled up eight top-three finishes overall, with strong efforts in the middle distances, hurdles and field events underscoring a productive weekend in Mankato.
