St. Thomas travels to Brookings, S.D., for Jim Emmerich Alumni Meet
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Thomas track & field programs compete Saturday, Jan. 24 at the Jim Emmerich Alumni Meet in Brookings, S.D., hosted by South Dakota State University. Field events begin at 1:30 p.m. followed by running events at 1:45 p.m. at the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.

St. Thomas delivered a record-setting performance Friday night at the St. Thomas Indoor Invitational, turning in a strong showing on its home track inside the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex. The Tommies combined for 19 event wins and 46 top-three finishes, highlighted by a program record on the women's side and a deep, balanced effort across both squads that produced numerous marks ranking among the best in program and Summit League history early in the indoor season.
The Tommie women were paced by senior Olivia Keller, who broke a 24-year-old program record in the 600 meters with a winning time of 1:31.51, one of the top performances in the Summit League this season. St. Thomas collected 11 event wins and 23 top-three finishes, led by strong performances across the field and track events. Senior Lauren Rott captured titles in both the shot put and weight throw, while Cassia Cady won the triple jump and Brooke Wisdom added runner-up finishes in the pole vault and triple jump, both ranking among the program's all-time bests. On the track, freshman Jayi Wilson claimed the 60-meter dash title, with additional top league marks from Lauren Heneman, Chiara White, Ella Olson and Cassie Gospodarek.
The Tommie men matched the momentum with eight event wins and 23 top-three finishes, highlighted by a standout sweep in the 60-meter hurdles as Barak Barner, Vincenzo Miller and Braeden Brouwer finished first through third, all posting times that rank among the top 10 in program history. Strong middle-distance and distance performances followed, including league-leading marks from Blake Burnstad in the mile and multiple top-13 Summit League times in the 800 meters. In the field, Will DiSessa, Henry Skinner and Trever Schirmer delivered top-11 league performances, rounding out a comprehensive team effort that underscored the Tommies' depth and early-season form.
