Fritcher, Recchio combine for four hits against the Gophers
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- St. Thomas baseball welcomed Minnesota to Koch Diamond for a midweek contest. Scoring early in the game, Minnesota (21-22 overall, 7-14 Big Ten) defeated St. Thomas (21-18 overall, 15-6 Summit) at Koch Diamond.
Scoring three runs in the opening frame, the Gophers gained the early lead on Wednesday afternoon.
Minnesota added three runs across four innings before recording a five-run sixth frame to extend its lead to 11-0 through six.
The Gophers kept the Tommies off the board through seven innings of play, earning a shutout victory over St. Thomas.
Easton Fritcher and Tanner Recchio posted multi-hit games against the Tommies.
