Ella Cook named Summit League Peak Player of the Week

Cook cracked three home runs across the Tommies’ 5-0 week
ST. PAUL, Minn. – Ella Cook led the Tommies (31-16 overall, 12-3 Summit League) to an undefeated week with sweeps of Green Bay and Kansas City and a move into sole possession of first place in the Summit League. She has been named the Kwik Star Summit League Peak Player of the week.
Cook is the third Tommie to receive a weekly conference honor this season, a program first. This is Cook's first time being named Summit League player of the week.
Cook played in all five games and slashed .600/.700/.1.333 across 15 at-bats. She tallied nine hits, eight runs, 20 total bases, 14 RBI, four walks, with two doubles and three home runs (including a grand slam against Kansas City).
The redshirt junior also pitched twice during the week with a 2-0 record in 12 innings of work. She held opponents to a .190 batting average and posted a stellar 0.58 ERA. She has been the best two-way player in the Summit League the entire season.

St. Thomas Softball hosts its final series of the season against the North Dakota State Bison this Friday and Saturday at noon, 2:30 p.m., and 11:00 a.m. Two wins from the Purple would secure a co-championship for the Summit League regular season crown and three wins would lock up sole possession of the first conference championship in program history.
