Top Five Finish for Isabelle Lynch; Women’s Golf Takes Ninth

Lynch powered through the finish with a -3 on the final day at the Coach Mo Classic
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Isabelle Lynch finished as the Tommies' top golfer to wrap up fifth place at the Coach Mo Classic at St. Johns Golf and Country Club over the past two days. The Tommies finished ninth of the 16 teams competing at the event, one stroke out of the top seven and nine strokes out of the top five.

Tommie Women's Golf finished the tournament 43 strokes over par with a 308-304-295—907, one stroke behind Florida International and Minnesota for a share of seventh place and 30 strokes behind the winning Purdue Boilermakers at +13. Isabelle Lynch finished two strokes over par, just five strokes behind the leader, Natasha Kiel of Purdue.
The Toms got stronger as the rounds went on and finished with their best round of the competition on day two with a +7. Both Isabelle Lynch (-3) and Emma Davies (-1) completed the final round under par. Lynch's second round -1 was the only other individual round below par from the Purple. Kathryn VanArragon led the way during the first round with a +3.
Isabelle Lynch climbed five spots on the leaderboard after her third-round performance. Overall, she went 78-71-69—218 (-2) and finished tied for fifth place. She rattled off four birdies over the course of her final 18 and played consistent golf with just one bogey. The senior finished 7th in the tourney on Par 3s (E) and second on Par 4s (+1). Her 10 total birdies were 6th most in the field of 90 golfers.
Emma Davies was the biggest climber out of anyone in the tournament on day three. She rose 28 spots up the leaderboard after going one stroke under par. Overall, she finished in a tie for 24th place after she shot 78-78-71—227 (+11). Davies tallied three birdies and two bogeys on Tuesday.
Nicole Reineke finished in a tie for 41st place with a 77-74-79—230 (+14) while Kathryn VanArragon shot a 75-81-79—235 (+19) and finished tied for 65th. Amelia Morton was the final scoring golfer for the Tommies and rose two spots on the leaderboard into a tie for 69th with a 79-82-76—239 (+21). Claire Schweim finished 89th with an 83-88-85—256 (+40) while competing as an independent.

Tommie Women's Golf takes a couple weeks off from competition before returning to play for the Summit League Championship at Longbow Golf Course in Mesa, Arizona on April 20-22. The Tommies look to continue their climb to the top of the Summit after a program-best third place finish last season.
