Isabelle Lynch takes second place at Summit League Championship

The Tommies finished fifth after strong rounds on days two and three
MESA, Ariz. – Isabelle Lynch led the way with one of the lowest single rounds of the tournament on day three to secure a tie for second place at the 2025 Summit League Championship at Longbow Golf Course. The Tommies took fifth place as a team after two strong rounds on Monday and Tuesday.
Lynch's 67 (-4) on the final day was tied for the second lowest single round of the tournament and set a new single round program record.
Day One Recap
St. Thomas struggled on day one and went 33 strokes over par for a share of sixth place with the South Dakota Coyotes. Isabelle Lynch led the way for the Tommies going five strokes over par (76).
Lynch rallied back from a double bogey on the very first hole with four consecutive pars but went bogey, par, bogey, birdie to finish the front nine at +3 (38). Apart from a double on 13, Lynch birdied 15 and parred every other hole on the back to finish five over (76).
Kathryn VanArragon finished two strokes behind her senior teammate and one stroke up on Nicole Reineke at +7 (78) and +8 (79), respectively. Emma Davies was the final scoring golfer for the Tommies on day one with a +13 (84). Amelia Morton shot 17 strokes over (88) to begin the competition.
After the first day, Denver led by 10 strokes at +2 (286) and Omaha finished five strokes clear (317) of the Tommies and Coyotes (317) in fifth place.
Day Two Recap
The Tommies bounced back with a tremendous round on day two, tied for the lowest of all teams in the field that day at +4 (288). They climbed to fifth place behind a pair of even par performances (71) from Isabelle Lynch and Amelia Morton. Their highest scoring round was Nicole Reieneke's +3 (74).
Lynch played top tier golf on the front nine with pars on all but for one bogey on the fifth hole. She got that stroke back with a birdie on 12 and got to one under with a second birdie on 14. She bogeyed both 16 and 17 but finished out her strong performance with a birdie on 18.
Morton played the best golf of her collegiate career with a new career low score of 71. She was +3 on the front nine with bogeys on one, five, and eight, but rallied on the back with birdies on 14, 16, and 18. Her -3 (33) on the back nine was the lowest of the day for any Tommie.
Emma Davies finished one stroke over par (72) with two birdies and a bogey on the front and two bogeys on the back. Nicole Reineke was the final scoring golfer on day two and went three over (74). Kathryn VanArragon recorded the highest score at four over par (75), one stroke lower than the Tommies' best round of day one.
The Toms finished in fifth place after 36 holes, beating South Dakota by 10 strokes on the second day. Denver remained in the lead despite shooting +8. Lynch and Morton's rounds were two of five rounds total to go at or below par on day two. There were just three such rounds on the first day at Longbow Golf Course.

In total the Tommies went 317-288-285—890 (+38) to finish eight strokes outside the top three. Denver walked away with the Championship trophy with a 286-292-281—859 (+7), 19 strokes ahead of the field after a -3 during the final round.
Isabelle Lynch was the star of the show for the Purple on day three, matching the individual champion, Clara Gestsdottir from Denver, with a -4. The senior climbed six spots on the leaderboard to claim sole possession of second place, the best finish by a Tommie at the Summit League Championship in program history.
Lynch got her final day started on the right track with birdies on two of the first three holes to finish two under on the front nine. She followed up her spectacular front with a birdie on 12 and an eagle on 15, one of eight across the entire tournament. She bogeyed 17 and finished the back nine at two under. Her 67 is a program record.
The senior finished tied for sixth in the tournament on Par 3s at an even par, fifth on Par 4s at +4, sixth on Par 5s at -3, and second in parred holes with 37.
Amelia Morton followed up her personal best second round with another personal best in the third round going one stroke under par (70) to rise seven spots on the leaderboard for a 27th place finish. The freshman birdied the first hole and finished the front nine two strokes over par. She played nearly perfect golf on the back nine with a birdie on 10 and an eagle on 15, the same hole Lynch eagled. Morton shot 88-71-70—229 (+16), improving each round.
Kathryn VanArragon finished in 23rd place with a 78-75-74—227 (+14), Nicole Reineke placed in 24th at 79-74-75—228 (+15), and Emma Davies finished one stroke behind Morton in 29th place at 84-72-74—229 (+17).
Overall the Tommies finished in second place on the Par 3s (+7), third on the Par 4s (+53), sixth on the Par 5s (+3), second in eagles (2), sixth in birdies (30), and third in pars (162).
