Men and Women combine for five records at Mark Schuck Open

Tommie Track & Field set 22 top-10 program marks in Mankato
MANKATO, Minn. — St. Thomas Track & Field delivered a record-breaking performance at the Mark Schuck Open and Multi in Mankato, Minn., setting five new indoor program records and achieving 22 top-10 all-time marks.
Record-Breaking Sprints
· Rebecca Randleman bested her own program record in the 300m dash, clocking 39.51 seconds to win the event.
· Olivia Keller (40.34), Hannah Cornelius (40.47), Alexis Pratt (40.64), and Danika Apple (40.95) swept the next four spots, ranking 2nd through 5th in program history, respectively.
· The Tommies totaled five of the top six finishers in the 300m dash among 26 runners.
· Danika Apple also broke the indoor record in the 60m dash for the second straight week with a 7.51 seconds, finishing second in the finals.
· For the men, Mitchell Piehl set the new 300m dash program record with a time of 34.90, placing second overall. Jayson Koel and Jacob Gilbertson also cracked the top 10 list in the event, tied for fourth and sixth, respectively.
Dominant Jumps
· Olivia Keller set a new program record in the long jump with a leap of 5.90m, earning second place. Her mark surpassed Kristal Grigsby's previous record set in 2005.
· Ava Wilber (5.69m, 4th all-time), Brianna Fleek (5.62m in the pentathlon, 6th all-time), Cassia Cady (5.53m, 7th all-time), and Zoey Hermel (5.42m, 9th all-time) also made top-10 program history.
· Christina Driver jumped from eighth to second all-time in the triple jump with an 11.72m mark, securing second place.
· Morgan Koppelman cleared 3.61m in the pole vault, now 4th all-time, finishing third overall.
Record-Tying Hurdles and a Top 10 Dash
· Jack Rosner tied the program record in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.05, finishing third in the finals.
· Maki Whelan tied for 6th all-time with an 8.40 performance during the heptathlon.
· Riddik Collier sprinted to a 7th all-time mark in the 60m dash, finishing third overall.
Distance Dominance
· Blake Burnstad claimed first in the 1000m run with a time of 2:27.37, ranking 3rd all-time, while Max Westerlund placed fourth at 2:29.25, 10th in program history.
· Joe McNeil dominated the 3000m run, finishing first in 8:27.97, securing the 9th spot all-time.

Men's Head Coach Pete Wareham following a successful trip with program records and top 10 marks:
"Our men had a very successful weekend in Mankato. I was very impressed with their competitive intensity and strong results were the outcome. Our guys were prepared and focused which sets up high level performances. We definitely built momentum today.
"Our event coaches have been a big part of this success. We are now even more excited to keep things going next week at Iowa State."
Women's Head Coach Ashley Lucas' thoughts after three program records at the Mark Schuck Open and Multis:
"Today was another great stepping stone in our journey to the conference championship. I am most proud of how the teams confidence in themselves and each other continues to grow. With confidence comes great performances. The team truly vibes off each other, so when one performs well, everyone feeds off that like a domino effect.
"The weekend was highlighted by Becca (Randleman), Danika (Apple), and Olivia (Keller) breaking school records. We look forward to getting back to work and getting the distance crew back to racing next weekend."

The Tommies are back to competition Saturday, Feb. 8 with its second trip to Iowa State, this time competing at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa.
