Track & Field to host St. Thomas Invitational Friday

Field events begin at 2 p.m., running events at 4:30 p.m. in ARC Fieldhouse
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- St. Thomas track & field returns to action Friday, Jan. 17 as it hosts the St. Thomas Invitational in the Anderson Recreation Complex Fieldhouse.
The meet begins with field events at 2 p.m., opening with throws followed by jumps at 3:30 p.m., while running events start at 4:30 p.m.

St. Thomas track and field shined during the indoor season opener at the M City Classic on Dec. 8, 2024, setting 19 top-10 program marks and securing four event wins across men's and women's events. Junior Olivia Keller headlined the meet, breaking her own school record in the pentathlon with 3,751 points, surpassing her previous best by nearly 400 points. Along the way, she notched top-10 program performances in the 60m hurdles (8.86 seconds, 3rd), long jump (5.79m, 3rd), and high jump (1.61m, T-10th). Senior Josie Liebl and junior Brianna Fleek also excelled in the pentathlon, with Fleek scoring 3,176 points in her debut to rank seventh all-time.
The men's team showcased depth in the sprints, highlighted by junior Mitchell Piehl's victory in the 200m dash (21.88 seconds, 2nd all-time). Freshmen Riddik Collier and Braeden Brouwer joined Piehl in rewriting the 60m dash record book, while Piehl clocked 6.94 seconds in prelims for eighth all-time. On the women's side, freshman Danika Apple tied for second in program history with a 7.65-second finish in the 60m dash and placed third in the 200m. Junior Alexis Pratt and sophomore Rebecca Randleman added podium finishes in the 200m, with Randleman claiming the title in 25.50 seconds.
