HOUSTON -- The small contingent that traveled to Houston for the Victor Lopez Classic completed a successful outdoor season opener for St. Thomas Track & Field as both the men's and women's programs saw a record broken.

QUOTEABLES
Thoughts from head coaches Ashley Lucas and Pete Wareham following the season opening Victor Lopez Classic:
"We sent a small group down to Texas to kick off the outdoor season and I'm super proud of how they performed. It's always exciting to start off the season breaking a school record, so hats off to Cassia (Cady), Alexis (Pratt), Taynian (Walgrave), and Becca (Randleman) for etching their names in the record book. I think there were pretty strong performances across the board, so it was a great business trip. We are all excited for the season ahead." - Ashley Lucas, Women's Head Coach

"It was a great start to our outdoor season. Jack Rosner had a tremendous day with a huge long jump performance and a school record in the hurdles. Nate Raddatz also performed well including a strong javelin throw. Those two guys will certainly be high end Summit League performers. We took four guys down to Rice and will have a full team on April 6 at UW- LaCrosse where we expect very good competiton." - Pete Wareham, Men's Head Coach

UP NEXT
