Women’s Hockey season comes to an end in the WCHA Quarterfinals

No. 2 Wisconsin defeats the Tommies in round one of the WCHA playoffs
MADISON, Wis. – The St. Thomas Women's Hockey team fell to the No. 2-ranked Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday evening.
RECAP
Wisconsin scored its first goal of the game midway through the first period, holding the 1-0 lead through the remainder of the opening period.
The Badgers added four goals in the first 10 minute of the second period, while the Tommies shut down the Wisconsin offense in the second half. Olivia King recorded 41 saves through the first 40 minutes.
Wisconsin scored to extend its lead 6-0 in the opening minute of the third period. Five minutes later, Maddie Jurgensen scored the Tommies' lone goal of the game, a one-time shot off a feed from linemate Mary Zavoral.
The Badgers ultimately defeated St. Thomas 9-1 in game two of the WCHA Quarterfinals
The St. Thomas defense recorded season-high 28 blocked shots in today's game against Wisconsin, including 11 blocks in the first period
King finished the game recording career-high 51 saves against the Badgers.
The Tommies concluded their 2023-24 season with a DI program record of 10 wins, finishing in 7th place in the WCHA regular season.
