Summit Swim-Dive: New IM record time for Urkiel

Minneapolis, Minn. -- Junior Grace Urkiel broke a seven-year-old Tommie program record for the 200 IM in Thursday prelims to highlight performances for St. Thomas Women's Swim-Dive in day two of the Summit League Championships.
With two days down and two to come, St. Thomas and Eastern Illinois are tied for sixth place (103 points) in the eight-team field. Denver (315) leads second-place South Dakota (169) atop the standings.
Urkiel clocked 2:06.01 for her record, eclipsing Nicole Herrli's 2:06.62 mark from 2016. In Thursday night's 200 IM finals, Urkiel scored 12 team points with a seventh-place finishin 2:06.35.
St. Thomas' 200 free relay scored 24 points with a seventh-place finish in 1:35.11 with Urkiel, Libby Fischer, Megan West and Elizabeth Bonneville.
Bonneville finished 18th in the 50 free and missed her personal best by .09 with a season-best 23.89 clocking. Carly Wolf had a personal best and top-7 program best in the prelims of the 200 IM.
Friday's action starts with a prelim round at 10 a.m. --
