Opdahl named Kwik Star Summit League Peak Diver of the Week

ST. PAUL, MINN. - The University of St. Thomas swim and dive team is back and action. After a month-long hiatus, the Tommies returned to action, defeating Augustana and Sioux Falls to kick off the second half of the 2024-25 season. Key to St. Thomas success was sophomore diver Hattie Opdahl (Lindstrom, Minn. / Chisago Lakes), who was named the Kwik Star Summit League Peak Diver of the Week Tuesday afternoon.
Opdahl swept the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions for the third time this season, claiming first in both events to led St. Thomas to victory over both opponents. The sophomore won the 1-meter competition with a six-dive score of 260.70. Not only was that a season best for Opdahl, but it also ranks third the Summit League this season with one month remaining before the conference championships in Iowa City, Iowa.
Opdahl was just as good in the 3-meter competition, as she once again won in dominant fashion. The sophomore's six-dive score of 256.13 was nearly 10 points better than the second-place finisher, as Opdahl won the event and claimed her third diving sweep of the season. After the weekend, Opdahl ranks second in the Summit League in 3-meter diving.
Opdahl and her teammates will return to action on Saturday, January 25, as the Tommies take on the University of South Dakota. The dual between St. Thomas and the Coyotes will begin at 2:00 p.m. in Vermillion, South Dakota.
