King totaled 32 saves in game two against the Huskies

ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- The St. Thomas Women's Hockey team traveled to Herb Brooks National Hockey Center to play No. 10-ranked St. Cloud State in game two of the weekend series.

The Tommies fell to the St. Cloud State Huskies, 2-0 on the road.

RECAP
Game two of the weekend series remained scoreless through the first period of play. St. Cloud State generated many offensive opportunities in the opening frame, outshooting the Tommies, 14-2.

There was no special teams action throughout the first two periods of the game. With 13:00 remaining in the second period, both teams were sent to the box for cross-checking, putting both squads down one player.

During the 4-on-4 action, the Tommies had a breakaway chance, but just missed the net. King made 24 saves before St. Cloud State scored their first goal of the night with 5:00 remaining in the second period. King finished the second period with 28 saves.

Early in the final period, St. Cloud State doubled their lead, putting the Huskies ahead 2-0.

St. Thomas went on their first power play of the afternoon with just under six minutes remaining in the game. The Tommies added three shots on goal with the player advantage, but were unable to put one past St. Cloud State's Jojo Chobak.

The Tommies pulled King with 1:18 remaining in the game, attempting to tie the game. St. Cloud State was then called for tripping, and with the Tommies' empty net, the Purple went on a 6-on-4 advantage with 12 seconds left to play. The Tommies ultimately could not put one past the strong Husky goaltending.

The Tommies outshot the Huskies in the third period, 10-5. King finished the night with 32 saves in net.

· Graduate student, Olivia King totaled 32 saves and a .941 SV% against St. Cloud State.
· Maddy Clough led the Tommies with four out of the 13 blocked shots this afternoon
· Ella Boerger continued to lead the Tommies on the dot, winning 11 out of 20 faceoffs this afternoon.

St. Thomas Women's Hockey travels to Washington D.C. to play in the D1 in DC Tournament. The Tommies will face Harvard on Friday, Nov. 24th and Cornell on Saturday, Nov. 25th at the MedStar Capitals Iceplex.
