Women's Golf places second at the NDSU Fall Invitational

Oxbow, N.D. - The St. Thomas Women's Golf team places second at NDSU Fall Invitational with a combined score of 614 trailing host North Dakota State by 13 strokes.
"It was a great first tournament for our team," said Head Coach Katie Hanneman. "Getting the chance to get on the course as a team and start building our team chemistry this early in the year. I'm proud of the effort of our team and I'm excited to keep competing this fall."
Individually, the Tommies were led by freshman Emma Davies (75, 76, 151), who finished the invitational in third place. Four of the six St. Thomas golfers finished the invite in the top-10. Freshman Caroline Monty (78, 75, 153) finished tied for sixth, junior Courtney Wedin (77, 77, 154) finished eighth, and sophomore Isabelle Lynch (79, 77, 156) who finished tied for 10th.
The Bison won the invitational with a score of 304, 297, 601, and the Fighting Hawks finished third with scores of 314, 319, 633.

The St. Thomas Women's Golf Team finished Day 1 of the three-team NDSU Fall Invitational in second place, trailing host, NDSU (304), by five strokes, and leading UND (314) by five strokes through the first round.
The Tommies (309) were led by freshman Emma Davies, who finished the day tied for second place and shot a 75. St. Thomas saw its top-four golfers all finish the day in the invitational's top-10 and shot under 80 in their first round - junior Courtney Wedin (T6, 77), freshman Caroline Monty (8, 78) and sophomore Isabelle Lynch (T9, 79) joined Davies in leading the Purple.

St. Thomas returns to action Sept. 19 as it travels to compete in the Jackrabbit Intercollegiate at Brookings Country Club.
