St. Paul, Minn. – Tommie Football senior defensive linemen Noah Borgeson is among three Pioneer Football League players and 114 individuals nationally nominated by their university for the 2022 Allstate Good Works Team. The 31st-annual award is sponsored by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA).

A Rochester, Minn., native, Borgeson was named the 2018 Lourdes High Student-Athlete of the Year. He will finish his undergrad academic career at St. Thomas in December 2022 after playing his final season with the Tommies in fall 2022.

He maintains a 3.94 grade-point average with a major in Political Science and a minor in Strategic Communication Leadership. He's made the university's Dean's List all eight semesters and was voted to the Pioneer Football League all-academic second team in 2021. He previously qualified for the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference academic team during the Tommies' D-III era.

Borgeson's campus and community service work includes last semester's service as director of research at the Keystone Community Services Food Bank. He also volunteered at Keystone's drive-through food distribution event, where he packed and distributed food for Keystone clients.

He previously was a school volunteer near campus at Saint Peter Claver Catholic School, where he read books to and interacted with kindergarten students.

Borgeson has also been active in supporting St. Jude's Children's Hospital. As a rising sophomore in 2019, he represented the St. Thomas team at St. Jude's Collegiate Leadership Seminar in Tennessee, attending leadership workshops and speaker presentations. He's organized and assisted St. Thomas' efforts in raising money for St. Jude's Hospital throughout his college career, part of a football team that over the last several years has topped all national student groups in fundraising dollars raised. He also stepped up to volunteer as emcee of a St. Jude's rally on campus in both 2019 and 2020.

On the field, Borgeson was a starter and senior captain on St. Thomas' defense in the university's inaugural Division I season of 2021. The Purple posted a 7-3 record and shared third place in the Pioneer Football League. He recorded two tackles for loss, one sack and one fumble recovery last season, and had a forced fumble and tackle for loss in 2019.

Marist's Teddy Wright and Davidson's Quentin James were other Pioneer players nominated for this year's Good Works award.
