WCHA unveils Women's Hockey's 2022-23 conference slate

Bloomington, Minn. – The Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) has announced the 28-game conference slate for St. Thomas women's hockey for the 2022-23 season. On Monday, the WCHA revealed the league schedule for the Tommies in their second season of competition in the conference.
 
St. Thomas will play 14 home and 14 road WCHA contests over the course of the campaign. The 2022-23 schedule outlines weekend dates and opponents for St. Thomas, not including home-and-home series. Exact game dates and times, along with the full non-conference schedule, will be released at a later date.
 
The Tommies open conference play at Wisconsin for two road games on Oct. 7 and 8. On Oct. 21-22, the Tommies face the Mavericks of Minnesota State. The team will travel to take on St. Cloud State on Oct. 28-29 to finish the month of October.
 
In November, St. Thomas welcomes Ohio State (Nov. 4-5) and rematches with Minnesota State (Nov. 19-20), this time away from Mendota Heights. December sees the team face St. Cloud (Dec. 2-3) at home before playing two on the road at Minnesota Duluth (Dec. 9-10). St. Thomas concludes the first half of play against Bemidji State on Dec. 16-17.
 
Opening half No. 2 of the 2022-23 season at Minnesota (Jan. 13-14), the Tommies end the month of January with four-straight home WCHA matches, against Minnesota Duluth (Jan. 20-21) and Wisconsin (Jan. 27-28). Over the course of February, the Tommies travel for four-consecutive matches (at Bemidji State on Feb. 3-4 and at Ohio State on Feb. 10-11), before returning to Saint Thomas Ice Arena for two games against Minnesota (Feb. 17-18) to conclude league play.
 
Postseason play begins Feb. 24-25 with the WCHA Quarterfinals. The WCHA Championship is set for March 3-4. The location of the WCHA Final Faceoff will be released at a later time.

The Women's League of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association will mark its 24th season in 2022-24. The nation's premier women's hockey conference, WCHA member institutions have won a record 19 national championships since the league's inception in 1999 (including 18 of a possible 21 NCAA titles). The eight-team, NCAA Division I conference consists of: Bemidji State University (Beavers), the University of Minnesota (Golden Gophers), the University of Minnesota Duluth (Bulldogs), Minnesota State University (Mavericks), The Ohio State University (Buckeyes), St. Cloud State University (Huskies), University of St. Thomas (Tommies), and the University of Wisconsin (Badgers).
