Michigan Tech (15-8-1 overall, 12-5 CCHA) has built a six-game winning streak and now holds second place in the CCHA.
St. Thomas broke a 15-game losing streak and claimed the program's first Division I road victory on Jan. 15 with a 4-3 win at Ferris State. Tim Piechowski scored two breakaway goals for the Purple, one short handed. Peter Thome stopped 38 shots, tied for his second most of the season.
They followed that up with 5-1 and 7-1 losses to No. 1-ranked Minnesota State on Jan. 20 and 22.
The Jan. 27-28 stretch produced a bye weekend for the Toms.
