Swimming & Diving in fifth after third day of Summit League Championships

West Fargo, N.D. - The St. Thomas men's and women's swimming & diving teams each sit in fifth place at the team's first-ever Summit League Swimming & Diving Championships appearance, following the third day of competition.
Competing in the 100 Yard Butterfly, Casey McGrath earned 12th with a time of 50.95 in the finals portion of the race. Alex Foti and Luke Ridder finished 15th and 16th, respectively, in the 200 Yard Freestyle. For the men, Will Goldman matched the women's squad with a top-three time in the 100 Yard Breaststroke, setting a program DI record with a 55.50 time. Joe Rudd raced to eighth in the 100 Yard Breaststroke. A.J. Carollo continued a strong showing at the championships with a time of 50.98 in the 100 Yard Backstroke. Andrew Godfrey tallied a top-eight score in the 3 Meter Dive with a 231.65 spot. The quad of Garrett Riley, John Gahnz, Carollo, and Foti finished sixth in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay.
Carly Wolf finished 13th in the 400 Yard IM, for the women's highest finish in the event, with a time of 4:43.48. In the 100 Yard Butterfly, Liz Thull recorded a time of 57.23, good for ninth place. Freshman Elizabeth Bonneville earned 10th in the 200 Yard Freestyle for the Tommies (1:52.37). Teammate Skyler Leverenz finished just behind Bonneville with a time of 1:52.41. Grace Urkiel tallied a top-three time in the 100 Yard Breaststroke, racing to a time of 1:03.30, a program NCAA Division I record. Sophie Curran, a freshman, set a PR with a time of 56.17 in the 100 Yard Backstroke. Leverenz, Bonneville, Megan West, and Urkiel tallied fifth in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay.
