Swimming & Diving finishes the Summit League Championships in fifth

West Fargo, N.D. - The St. Thomas men's and women's swimming & diving teams have finished the Summit League Championships in fifth place on both sides.
Blake Baertlein recorded the highest finish in the 100 Yard IM for the men's side with a time of 52.93, finishing 11th. John Gahnz, competing in the 200 Yard Backstroke, finished in 1:53.74 for eighth. Joe Rudd tallied fourth place in the 200 Yard Breaststroke, finishing in 2:02.28. Michael Scripp, with a time of 1:55.23, earned ninth in the 200 Yard Butterfly. Alex Foti finished sixth in the 1650 Yard Freestyle with a time of 15:58.34.
Anna Astrup finished just outside of the top three in the 100 Yard IM, racing to a fourth-place time of 58.93. Teammate Carly Wolf tied for ninth in the 100 Yard IM with a time of 1:00.54. Freshman Elizabeth Bonneville earned sixth in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a mark of 51.65. Grace Urkiel, off a strong Friday performance, raced to sixth place in the 200 Yard Breaststroke. Liz Thull (2:07.05) tallied fifth in the 200 Yard Butterfly. Allison An, competing in the 3 Meter Dive, totaled a score of 225.35 for eighth place.
The culmination of the league's championships brought an end to the inaugural Division I season for the Tommies.
