Tommie Men's and Women's Swim & Dive last participated in the Coyote Extravaganza Nov. 4-5 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
The men brought home two event wins during the first day of the meet behind performances from sophomore Alex Foti and Joe Rudd. Foti finished with a win in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 9:59.09 and also took second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:49.34. Rudd won the 100 butterfly with a time of 51.83 and took fourth in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 57.72.
On day two, Foti won the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 16:48.93 while freshman Dakotah Parker won the 1-meter dive with a score of 257.65. Rudd set two program top 10 times in the 200 breaststroke (10th) and the 100 IM (fourth). Junior Blake Baertlein also set the sixth-best time in the 100 IM in program history.
Junior Grace Urkiel and sophomore Elizabeth Bonneville headlined the women's weekend while setting three program top 10 times. Urkiel opened the weekend with a second-place finish in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.53, which ranks sixth all-time at St. Thomas.
Bonneville took third in the 200 freestyle Friday, second in the 100 freestyle and fifth in the 100 IM on Saturday. Her time in the 100 freestyle ranks 10th all-time at St. Thomas and her 100 IM time ranks third. Junior Carly Wolf's time of 1:03.03 in the 100 IM ranks eighth in program history.
