Men take seven wins, women total five as Swim & Dive hosts JoAnn Andregg Invitational

St. Paul, Minn. -- Tommie Men's and Women's Swim & Dive saw five top 10 program marks set to go along with 12 total wins as the JoAnn Andregg Invitational wrapped up Saturday at Anderson Pool in St. Paul, Minn.
 
The men faced off against St. Cloud State while the women took on Minnesota State and St. Cloud State. The men finished second to the Huskies, 961-687, while the women took third with 645 points.
 
Sophomore Joe Rudd led the men with two event wins, both of which rank among St. Thomas' top 10 times all-time. He won the 200 breaststroke in 2:05.95, which ranks sixth at St. Thomas, and the 400 IM in 4:09.78, which ranks ninth all-time in program history.
 
Junior Blake Baertlein won the 100 IM with a time of 53.53, just 0.60 seconds shy of his program record.
 
Junior Grace Urkiel grabbed two of the women's five event wins on the day, swimming the 100 IM in 1:00.40 to rank fifth all-time at St. Thomas. Junior Megan West finished just behind Urkiel in the 100 IM with a time of 1:01.97, which is sixth at St. Thomas. Urkiel also won the 50 freestyle in 24.42.
 
Freshman Dakotah Parker swept the diving events, scoring 423.55 in the 1-meter and 267.60 in the 3m. Freshman Ben Linde took second in the 1m dive with a score of 410.45 and third in the 3m with a score of 234.50.
 
The Tommies take a nearly three-week break before their next action Dec. 2-4 at the SCSU Rochester Invitational held in Rochester, Minn.
