Tommie Watch
Both St. Thomas Men's and Women's Swim & Dive were selected to finish sixth in the 2022-23 Summit League Preseason Coaches' Poll.
The men's team will be led by sophomores Alex Foti and Joe Rudd as the preseason swimmers to watch. Foti and Rudd each earned Summit League Peak Swimmer of the Week honors during their inaugural seasons in the league.
The women's team is led by junior Grace Urkiel, the St. Thomas preseason swimmer to watch, and senior Allison An, the St. Thomas preseason diver to watch. Urkiel earned All-Summit League honors last season after a third-place finish in the 100 breaststroke and broke the Tommies' 50 breaststroke record. An earned two first-place finishes last season and was honored to the Summit League Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence.
Head Coach Scott Blanchard is set for his 12th season with the program, including his eighth as head coach. He led the Tommie men to four conference titles from 2015-18 and the women to four titles from 2016-19. Blanchard was named the conference Swimming Coach of the Year for both the men and women in 2015 and received the honor again for the women's team in 2016 and the men in 2017.
The Tommies finished the 2021-22 season with a 2-5 head-to-head record and finished fifth at the 2022 Summit League Championships in Fargo, N.D.
