Denver's second-half surge drops Women's Soccer

Denver, Colo. -- Summit League leader Denver remained unbeaten at home as it scored the game's final four goals in Sunday's 4-1 home defeat of Tommie Women's Soccer.
The Pioneers (9-4-3 overall, 6-0-1 Summit) scored the tying goal in the 38th minute. The game was 1-1 at halftime, and Denver scored the go-ahead goal in the 55th minute then added insurance goals in the 75th and 80th minutes.
Jasmine Gates scored in the 15th minute for the Tommies for a 1-0 lead.
Denver had a 19-3 advantage in shots (11-1 in shots on goal), and received four goals from four sifferent players. The Pioneers improved to 7-0-1 at home this season.
Annie Bantner had seven saves in net for the Purple (6-7-3, 2-5-1).
St. Thomas closes its season next Sunday Oct. 23 at Western Illinois. The Toms can finish their second D-I season with a.500 record with a closing victory on the road next weekend.
