Tommies ready to open Summit League play

St. Thomas returns to South Field, Sunday, September 27th
ST. PAUL, MINN.- The St. Thomas Tommies are set to open Summit League play this week as they hit the road to take on Omaha on Thursday, September. 24th for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff. The Tommies will return to South Field on Sunday, September 27th for a 1 p.m. kickoff.

Scouting the Mavericks
The Omaha Mavericks are 1-4-3 on the season thus far. The Tommies are 0-5 all time against the Mavericks. Omaha has scored two goals on the season coming from two different players. As a team, they average 0.25 goals per game.
Scouting the Roos
The Roos are 1-6-1 on the season and are set to play Oral Roberts on Thursday ahead of their matchup with the Tommies. Kansas City has tallied three goals on the season, all from different players. As a team, they average 0.38 goals per game.
New era of Tommie Soccer
Tommie soccer is entering a new era this season with the addition of a brand-new coaching staff. Gretta Macdonald, Becca Brandt, and Alex Piekarski are the new faces on the sideline and have taken the rains of Tommie Women's soccer.
Becca Brandt will be the interim head coach for the 2026 season as Head Coach Gretta Macdonald takes a leave of absence.
Brandt comes to St. Thomas with numerous coaching experience, most recently she served on Macdonald's staff for one season at St. Cloud State. Becca also spent time at UW-Madison as an assistant and recruiting coordinator (2022-2025). Brandt also spent her playing career at UW-Madison from 2014-2018; she served as the team captain in 2017.
Alex Piekarski also joins the Tommie staff as an assistant with a vast coaching resume. Piekarskie spent two seasons with Macdonald at SCSU. Prior to that, he spent five seasons as the head coach of Northwestern Oklahoma State. He also spent time as the head coach at NAIA Hastings College, and an assistant at Utah State and Wayne State College.
Tommie Goal Scorers
Junior Izzy McEwan leads the Tommies with four goals on the season. Freshman Alexis Larson and Ella O'Keefe each have scored their first collegiate goals this season. Sophomore Georgie McNeil has also chipped in a penalty kick goal.
2026 Tommies
The Tommies return 15 to the squad and have added 10 new additions.
