Overtime loss for Women's Soccer at Idaho to close trip

Freshman Abby Brantner scored her first collegiate goals, including a clutch tying score in the 89th minute, but Tommie Women's Soccer went on to fall 3-2 in two overtimes to a strong University of Idaho team Saturday night in the Kibbie Dome in Moscow, Idaho.
Savannah Foster scored her second goal of the game for Idaho (6-1-1) with just 65 seconds left in the second OT session in a game that appeared headed for a tie.
Brantner scored assisted by Lexi Huber scored early in the 55th minute to tie the game. The Vandals regained a 2-1 lead with a score in the 67th minute. Brantner struck again with just 81 seconds left in regulation time, assisted by Natalie Engel.
Idaho had an 8-6 edge in corner kicks but St. Thomas (2-5-1) had a 14-9 advantage in shots and a 9-6 edge in shots on goal.
The Toms have three one-goal losses in September, including two in overtime.
The Purple are near the halfway point of the schedule and have nine games to go, all against Summit League opponents. They play again on the road Friday Oct., 1 at South Dakota and again Oct. 3 at South Dakota State in their first league contests.
