Super weekend: Super Regional next for Softball

Sophomore Hayley Dunning threw a no hitter to lead No. 7-ranked St. Thomas Softball to a 1-0 win over No. 23-ranked Central (Iowa) in Saturday's regional softball championship at USTs South Field.
The Tommies (38-6) secured a berth in the Super Regional round for the fourth time in five seasons. They will face Sunday's Luther-St. Ben's winner next weekend in a best of three series.
Coach John Tschida's Tommies have won eight in a row, including a 6-0 run through the postseason. They have won 32 of their last 34 games.
This was Dunning's second no hitter in 14 days. She walked five and struck out two, and set down 13 of the last 14 Dutch batters. Central had a walk and two steals in the first inning to get a runner to third base with one out, but Dunning stranded that runner by retiring the next two batters.
Jenna Bromen's RBI single in the second inning scored Sammy Hogan with the game's only run.
