Baseball splits with Carleton

Senior lefty Eric Veglahn (5-0) allowed one run, one walk and three hits over six innings to improve his career record to 23-1 and Dan Ziemann's two-run homer led No. 10-ranked Tommie Baseball's 6-1 win over Carleton on Saturday at Koch Diamond.
The Knights won game two, 12-5, scoring six runs in the seventh and eighth innings.
UST (21-5 overall, 11-1 in the MIAC) is scheduled to play at Central (Iowa) in a Monday doubleheader and play two at second-place St. John's on Tuesday.
Tommie sophomore OF Jake Smith had four hits on the day to lift his season average to .402. He extended his hitting streak to 15 games and has reached base in 23 consecutive games and 25 of 26 on the season.
