Tommies mount comeback and defeat Mavericks 18-12

Fritcher homers giving the Tommies a late lead
OMAHA, NEB.- St. Thomas found a way to get the job done a earn a ## win over the Omaha Mavericks. The Tommies found themselves down 7-0 early, but two big innings (5th and 9th) helped propel the Tommie past the Mavericks.
Easton Fritcher was the hero of the day with his ninth inning three-run home run giving the Tommies their late lead.
The Tommies offense recorded 23 hits on the day.
Scoring Summary:
Omaha got the scoring going first in the bottom of the first inning, plating four off a two-run homerun, a sacrifice fly, and a double.
The Mavericks then scored three more in the second to take a 7-0 lead.
St. Thomas got on the board in the fourth plating two when Lucas McNellis brought in Matthew Maulik who reached on a double and Max Berrisford scored on a wild pitch.
Omaha then got one run back in the bottom of the fourth, making the score 8-2 Mavericks.
The Tommies made some noise in the fifth inning by plating seven runs and taking a 9-8 lead. Easton Fritcher, Tanner Recchio, Nolan Welke, Zan Von Sclegell, Matthew Maulik, and Lucas McNellis all tallied RBIs.
Unfortunately, the Tommies lead didn't last long as Omaha scored tw0 in the home half to the fifth, taking the lead back and making the score 11-9.
St. Thomas's offense was not done yet. They put up nine in the ninth inning, giving the Purple the 18-11 lead. Easton Fritcher was the hero of the day when his three-run homer gave the Tommies the lead. The Tommie offense tallied 10 hits in the innning and eight in a row.
Omaha got one back in the bottom of the ninth off a solo home run to make the score 18-12.

The Tommies return to Minnesota but head across the river for a midweek matchup with the Gophers on Tuesday, April 28th.
